Future of Energy

Colour Change

Abstract art, perhaps a Gerhard Richter, whose works change hands for millions of euros? Doesn't every observer see something different in his complex colourful compositions? In fact, this is an aerial view of a photovoltaic park, seen through the lens of a thermal imaging camera. This camera uses infrared to make visible which cells are overheated and therefore not providing any energy. The human eye is unable to perceive such defects. And the bird's eye view of solar plants is also out of reach for humans. This is only possible with modern drone technology, which is also being used in the renewable energies sector to make it easier to maintain and repair equipment.
